I thought I'd push myself to move around more yesterday. Nothing strenuous, just walking around the house and up and down to the chooks a few times. Anyway, awoke at 4am with pain coming back so managed to split a 2mg diazepam pill which was enough to ease it off and sleep well.
I really don't like taking strong drugs with warnings about addiction - possibly a bit paranoid but I know I'm an addictive personality type. The answer to addiction is don't start! :)

Be careful if it was a capsule type pill as they are designed to dissolve in the correct place & shouldn’t be split open, if it’s the traditional type tablet you should be ok 👌

Just a tablet - with a line on it for splitting too :)
The codeine tablets are minute, so can't be split but I didn't need any, which is good. They've gone into the cupboard now ready for the next emergency.
Think I'll get into the recycling bin  :D

There's a pattern developing - it starts to feel better so I start moving around a bit. Then it gets worse again. Getting very worried now and very fed up - there's a lot I want to do but just can't. Anyway, seeing an osteopath on Thursday and hoping she can help. I've never seen one before and not sure what to expect. Some say they're life savers and others that it's all hokum. I guess I'll find out

A good Osteopath is a godsend! Mine (a BUPA one but paid for by the NHS for 6 months) got me back on my feet again. She gave me exercises to keep me mobile, and the right stretches to do to ease it when pain returns (it often does if you turn awkwardly, once you've damaged a bit of your spine :() I also got posture advice to help straighten the deep curve in my lower back which wasn't helping.
This was after 4 months treatment by a physiotherapist in the Osteopathy Dept at the local hospital which was next to useless :(
So good luck - hope you find a good'un :)
