I have nearly finnished it :D  :D Well it is weather proof.
I was just putting the rain guttering on the back (not in the picture)
When one of the allotment holders sidled up the conversation went
(Him) "have you noticed" :?:
Me "no what"
Him all the sheds are as far from the road as you can get its in the rules :!:
ME I asked when I joined if there were any rules. The only one  was you cannot have live stock(   )
I have been building this shed for two weeks on and off Why has no one mentioned it before.
Him well no one is bothered  I tried to set up a committee but there was no  one interested.
me well I am not moving it.
Him its Ok leave it.
Obviousely someone to avoid if no was bothered why come and tell me at all.

What is it with (them) people that have to stick there noses in everything. It must be an allotment thing. I have a lady next to me who has told me she does not like my raised beds, my greenhouse is tooooo big, why do I drive down to the allotment, and many other moans and groans. If only we could road test our plots for a week or so.

Sadly these narcisstic types are everywhere and into everything. I have one in my garden club who feels she can best direct every function there is - but won't actually put her money where her mouth is. Guess that's what keeps life from being predictable and boring.

Hi Doug,

A similar thing happened with me. I put up my greenhouse (luckily with only part of the glass in) and someone came across saying it had to be at the other end of the alotment. I called the council (wondering if it was just someone interfering) and apparently there are sub-rules from years ago, which for some reason weren't included with my contract, so I had to move it to the top whilst trying not to stand on my beds. gggurrrr

We have a stupid rule at our allotment "All Sheds have to be on the left" it does not state what left is it left as you walk in the plot or left as you leave the plot. Well I have a green house on my left as you walk in and my shed on the right as you walk in. If anyone say's owt to me I will say the shed is on the left as you leave now clear off!!!!!.

There is a Irish chap who is lovely but so opinionated when he saw I was putting shed up he asked what it was for I said "sitting in" he said "oooo you want put your tools in there" I said "nahhh there water proof I'm not!!!". He then saw me building my chicken coop. He said now what you building I said a "chicken coop" he said "what for" I said "chicken's Tommy that's what you keep in a chicken coop" he then said "ooooo I should not bother you will get nothing from them" I said "either way Tommy I will get something if they don't lay I get a roast".

Bless him The best was when the polish chap next door to me who loves hus fruit trees started on about how horrid Tommy's apples were and the next day Tommy was going an about the polish chaps apples were no good. Both have been gardening for 100 years between them so i keep out of it.

All well and good! but they might have been gardening badly for the 100 years

My neighbour has an old boy come & do her veg plot for her. I was talking to him the one day & he was telling me he’d been veg growing since a little boy.
Yet every year he plants the same crop in the same place & every year the crops get the same diseases. 60+ years of experience isn’t much use if your not learning from your mistakes.
