When they do start to grow again they will almost certainly run to seed rather than fatten up - they will be OK in the ground until that starts to happen though (it will be influenced by the temperatures over the coming weeks............)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Mine will stay in the ground for a month or two more - they're pretty small but if you dig up enough of them then you can make something with them.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I've only got my back garden to grow in so my leeks will all be coming out this weekend (hopefully the weather will let me out into the garden).  I need to dig over to start preparing for this years crops.  There is only the thin spindly ones left that aren't worth eating as a veg but will join a couple of potatoes to make some soup for lunch and the freezer for another weekend.

We've got quite a few left in the ground. They grew taller than I expected, and some have bolted, but we still harvest them, hoik out the central stalk growing through, and they're fine.

Eventually of course, they'll keel over, but by then I'll need the ground they're in, so it's a huge cauldron of soup - again...
