Title: Peoples funny names
Post by: mrs bouquet on December 09, 2018, 12:11
Have you ever known anybody with a name to make you laugh.  These are a few I have met over the years, and are quite genuine.    A little girl at school introduced by Headmistress, (as we all were), Cherry Stone. A hush fell over assembly for about 2 seconds, then a lot of feet being shuffled and staring at the floor.
Julian Ceasar,  he went to school with my Fiancee,  very embarrassing when we were all in his car, and he was stopped by a Policeman,   'Your name please Sir' :D
Tim Tyme,  a fellow who used to drink in our local,  he married his girlfriend Justine,  so she became Justine Tyme.
What funny, (and often cruel names) have you encountered ?       Mrs Bouquet

My mum told me that she caused a bit of amusement when she got married and went to set up her bank account. Her maiden name was Teresa Penlington and she had just got married to my dad, Phillip Coffey.

Cashier : Surname please?
Mum : Coffey
Cashier : First initial?
Mum : T

And for those who may be suspiciously curious, I am not related in any way to the Daniel Coffey who died in London from glue sniffing when I was about 13. I lived in Jersey and as you know in many small places, folks know pretty much everyone. The local radio mentioned it to clear up any confusion as my dad was a public figure due to his job.
