Houseplant Ivy dying
« on: April 11, 2012, 17:03 »
I got an ivy houseplant from Ikea over a year ago which did well. Recently the leaves have started shriveling and going brown and dry. I* re-potted it in houseplant compost, keep it misted and the soil moist. all to no avail as it's getting worse. I don't know the type but it's dark green and got thin star shaped leaves and very spindly.

has the soil been waterlogged? I must admit the only time I have known ivy to shrivel up and die is when it's been pulled out of it's pot and left out to dry.
I made the mistake of planting Ivy on the outside of my house (again an indoor plant originally) and have now had to try and kill it off after having it trying to force it's way in through the bathroom window. My plant is now dead or so I thought but on closer inspection I can now see new flipping shoots coming from an old bit of root  It is a triffid and proving impossible to kill - so come round here and kill mine off please  ::).
Staffies are softer than you think.
