I'm a new member on this site so hi to everyone.
Does anyone know if pickling is a suitable method for preserving radishes. I'm a novice at growing vegetables and was so impressed and excited at how fast radishes grew that I planted loads. As I wont be able to eat them all at once I am looking at a way of saving some for later.

I've only ever tasted Korean water pickled radishes (and they were horrible).

Just my opinion but I think radishes would lose all their flavour if you tried pickling them.
Radishes, summer ones anyway, are a right here, right now crop. You should sow them in succession  - meaning a little every 2 weeks or so, so you don't end up with a glut and you get a more constant supply. When it gets past midsummer you can start growing winter radishes that grow more slowly but keep in the ground better.

IMHO, pickling anything is about the final flavour of the pickle rather than the flavour of any single ingredient.

So I agree ... better to sow successionally and try to avoid a glut unless you are planting with pickling in mind.
