We have lots of cranberries going red on the plant, could someone tell me when to pick them and what we can do with them other than cranberry sauce.

Cranberry and rosemary bread is divine.  You could have a go at making that.

Niknic and Riala you're getting confused!

Riala - niknik is addressing you and asking if you forgot to put something in your messagse as it only appears to say "I hope this helps".

Niknik - What Riala's done is to include in that sentence a link to another site so if you click on 'I hope this helps" it'll take you to another site.

Confusion sorted (I hope)!

Thank you for that, I thought Riala had forgotten the link.  I am not really very good with forums as I am a beginner with this as well as chickens.
I will have a good look at it now.  Also the cranberry bread sounds great, could you share the recipe?

Rosemary and Cranberry Bread.

My husband is the bread maker in our house and uses a breadmaker but I'm sure you could adapt this if you .make by hand'.

One cup of cranberries, halved or quartered (fresh better than dried, but if they have to be dried avoid sugary ones!)
1 cup of cranberry juice
2.5 tablespoons of olive oil (or other oil or butter)
1.25 teaspoons of salt
2.25 tablespoons of sugar
2.5 tablespoons of skimmed milk powder – optional
2 teaspoons of dried rosemary (or fresh, if you have it!)
3 cups of strong white bread flour
1.25 teaspoons of dried yeast

Makes a 1.5lb loaf - follow instructions on your breadmaker

A word of warning. Cranberry sauce does not freeze very well.  I made some for Christmas and had too much so thought would freeze it ready for Easter.  It never solidified properly and leaked and covered everything in the drawers below it with a red sticky goo.

Thank you for the recipe, I have a Breadmaker and will make some tomorrow. Sounds yummy.

Also I will now not try to freeze any sauce.
