Title: Houseplant Compost
Post by: Elaine G on January 07, 2022, 14:40
I ran out of houseplant compost so I bought a bag of MiracleGro Premium Houseplant Potting Mix.

Well it’s rubbish. I ended up sieving it as there were so many large twigs. And my Peace lilies definitely are not thriving.

So people, what do you pot your houseplants in?
Please save my peace lilies  :(

My spider plants, however, seem to grow in anything!!

Thanks

Elaine

personally I wouldn't buy Miracle grow compost's because I am a bit picky when it comes to buying composts Elaine

although I don't get involved with houseplants my wife uses [Clover] MP compost with no probs

My 20-year old peace lily is not picky about compost, but doesn't want to ever dry out. It grows in a container with no drainage holes, most of the time in standing water. If it dries out, the leaves will yellow and dry out/drop off.

I grow mine in any organic potting soil.
