Can I start my carrots in paper pots and then transplant them in the Lottie when it's ready, or is it too late?

I've never tried it that way, but I know some have on here why not give it a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

Lot of work for little return though ... I've done about 20 this year (because I was very late sowing outside and thought it would help them catch up). Hard to plant really close together (with a trowel)

It will also allow "holding", or staggering, the plants to follow another crop, and save some time.

I have allowed two plants to develop per pot - I'll pull one as a "baby" and leave the other to develop.

I think carrots in containers (say 12" diameter) might be a better way forward where sowing direct is not the best choice.

Oh no, they are not staying in pots, I am starting them in paper pots while i get the plot ready.
