FLOWER Update!

A touch of deja vu here. It was my daughter Lily's birthday yesterday and our first chick was found dead in the opened shell :cry: don't know why

Anyway late afternoon we went out to check again and another was half out

let all chooks out 7.15 this morning and heard it peeping

bless however, 4 o'clock today no peeping and got worried as not heard peeping lunch time either, anyway took Shirley off eggs and had a feel about in the straw and low and behold one very very cold little chick :cry:

This is Flower, she was nearly dead :shock: but I have very hot hands and she perked up after about an hour

She seems a little deformed round her neck (like Treacle) but she is still alive so far and under a heat lamp with a soft toy to snuggle in. Everything crossed please folks

with cold chicks the most die from being heated up to fast with lamps etc .just holding them as you did gives them a gentle heat , tip for the future for folks
