She's a Bearded Dragon.

Approx 4 - 4.5 months old & body is about 6" without tail & nowhere near fully grown.

I shall find out how quick she grows (my gecko's are slow growers).

The man showed us a 2 year old male, O/H nearly hit the floor when he saw how big it was.

Only ever seen young ones in a viv setting.

She's a red morph, so hopefully will be a nice red dragon.

She's so tame already, nothing to tame really, but they get to regognise you & will run over to see you & beg to come out.

They do make great pets, but you need to invest in the right equipment, heating & especially UV lights, which must be changed every 6-12 months (depends on type & make).

The correct foods & supplements, as I'm sure you are aware richyrich.

Just need to name her now, she's all spikey (for those not aware of beardies), but we already have a "spike".

She's lovely  :)

How about Alinga - its the aboriginal word for sun goddess so is a name from her ancestral land and beardies do love to bask  :D

Keeping an eye on the names.

New shoot's i s a clever name, as she does indeed originate from Australia.

Been sort of calling her Rubes at the moment, (Ruby) as she's red, nothing is set in stone yet.

O/H wants to call her "Brillo", as she is spikey & I mentioned spikey like a a brillo pad, I've set him straight, brillo is a no, no.

Thanks you all for your comments.

She's currently sunning herself under her lamp.

She's currently sunning herself under her lamp.

Don't they always  ::)
What type of lamp are you using Spotty ? we have a had the cheap spots from wilko's and an exo terra one too, funny thing is we found the cheap ones give off more heat than the posh Exo one, So at the minute we have a cheapo one in Hagrid seems to prefer the extra heat.
Our tortoises have one of those all in one uva/b heat and light things from arcadia (£60+) which is brilliant for them, but the beardie is on a dimming thermostat so the all in ones don't work with that set up.

This is Hagrid my son bought him in December and he's grown so fast, I have to build him a new viv now.

He's an hansom boy, Richyrich 7, big boy too.

My set up is Arcadia T5 12% D3 UV tube with (at the moment) a pro rep, 100 watt bask bulb.

The pro rep is like a R80 spot bulb, Infact I have some B & U R80 spot bulbs, just as good.

The spot/bask lamp is on a ceramic holder with a Habistat dimming thermostat.

She's in an Vivexotic EX48, 48" l x 24" w x 21" high wooden viv, ideally 24" high as well, but only 3" short, most people on the forums reccomend that for an adult beardie.

I won't use exo terra, paid £12 for a GU10 halogen bulb, blew in 2 weeks, paid 99p for a GU10 halogen bulb on Fleabay, lasted 3 months & going strong.

Had other exo bulbs blow too.

I know a good online supplier (cheap & I find no problems with them).

Pm if interested in who they are, based Hersham, Surrey.

Thanks for the info spottymint  :)

I was going to make him a viv 4x3x2 but then realised it might be too big for where it was going, so like you say 4x2x2 will be what I'm aiming for.
