chickens in middlesbrough?

Hi, everyone im new on here  :) and and thought i'd drop in and ask is there anyone on here that lives in Middlesbrough who keeps chickens? Did you have a prob from the council? If so, how did you manage to overcome the objection? ive been told i cant keep them but havnt appealed yet so i thought i would try and get as much info as poss before i launched the attack  :mad:

Hi Emilie, I'm in Nunthorpe and don't want to tempt fate but no problems as yet.

What grounds have they given you for their objections in you keeping chickens?  If they are not causing a nuisance what are they objecting to?  Is there anything in your tenancy/lease/or covenants in your deeds which states that you can not keep chickens where you are?  Think some of the newer estates may have covenants on them if the gardens are only small but am not sure if they do.

Someone else will advise you of your rights on here shortly I am sure.  Let us know how you are getting on.
