Title: Giant size hen egg!!
Post by: Thrift on August 19, 2011, 12:08
This egg is a real giant ...... it is shown with a mixture of duck and 'normal' hen eggs.

There seem to be no ill effects

Just weighed it ...... it's a whopping 125g

We don't even know which hen is responsible; all skipping about as usual, mind you she'll probably resign for good after that.

Goodness!  And ouch!  ???

Keep the camera handy when you crack it open - it might be a double yolker or other such interesting egg.  The biggest my pullets have laid so far is 80g and that seemed pretty big at the time.  125g is enormous!

Wow!!
Ours are normally around 63 grams, our biggest so far was 90 grams which was a double yolker, and two days later we were an egg short, so I guess that was her recovery time!!
