Hi, I'm a newby.
I've been given a complete Howard 350 Rotavator that has stood outside for a very long time.
I have removed the motor and am fitting new valves as the gap is way too big, I have installed a new mag and electonic points so think I'm well on the way to getting it running. The problem I have now run up to is have removed the cone clutch and dismantled it to free up the bearings which now run free. On thrying to reassemble it I'm finding the inner cone bottoms out on the pully flange when I tighten down the outer cone, is this right? By looking at the clutch it appears it disengages by pushing the inner cone inwards to seperate it from the outer cone but this is not possible. Any help would be really useful. By the way I have a lot of parts for the motor which is a K141 if anyone is looking for parts.

Thanks Jezza, that was useful info. I've now sorted the clutch out by machining some material off of the back edge giving me the clearance I needed to make the clutch work.
