We use the large plastic water bottles in my office , so my. Question can these be used as large demijohns ?
3 girls .............very addictive these girls are becoming

Yes, just don't put extreemy hot fluids in them.  And you'll need some kind of bung.  But they will be fine for fermentation.

then like BobE said you will have to drill a small hole to fit an airlock... go for it.

Please ask the water company first as they do throw away ones (also good as cloches), as you would not wish to cause problems at work.
You could use cotton wool and loose foil as a bung.
