I found an old packet of seed [Franchi] that i sowed back in  spring but i can't remember if they where Broccoli green sprouting or Calabrese because i lost the packet now there ready to pick they have a small Calabrese head but I'm not sure if i should leave them to see if the form side shoots after picking the heads?

It's worth waiting a few weeks to see if more small heads grow, isn't it? I would

The reason that I say that, is because Calabrese and Broccoli are the essentially the same thing - like 'ordinary' cabbage and Savoys.
It's just that Calabrese is the local Broccoli grown in the Calabria region of Italy - like the others some of them make smaller sprouts and some of them make a bigger head to harvest. If the farmer doesn't plough them in, most of them do resprout if the weather stays kind

as i said Mum I've nothing to loose if they don't do anything i can pull them up and put them on the compost heap come spring

i may have planted them a tad to late because as said the heads are very small anyway Il give them a go thanks once again
