french beans or borlotti beans?
« on: August 15, 2010, 20:24 »
I cannot find the seed packet but what i thoguht were dwarf french beans have a red mottled skin.  My neighbour at lottie assures me they must be bolottie beans.  Is there a difference in how crop them and use them?
Time waits for no man and I can't wait for growth.

yes borlotti beans are eaten for the seeds so you shell them like peas
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

You can also eat them like french beans, unfortunately they lose their mottling in cooking
