I've got a cheap (Lidl) thermostatic fan heater in the bubblewrap-sectioned end of the greenhouse, but watching the thermometer over the past few days it seems I can't get the thermostat on it to come on with any accuracy - it got down to 3C last night while yesterday the fan came on at 11C.

Are there decent thermostatic switches (with an external sensor? so i can set that where the plants are rather than at the socket) that aren't silly money?

I can't remember the brand name, but I always found the ones that were sold for propergating benches worked very well. Might have been made by Sankey now I come to think of it.
Just had a look on Ebay, the kind of thing I was looking at was around the £30-40ish price.
You could save that over one winter i suppose. :blink:

Try an electrical wholesaler if you have one.I think Salus make a frost free one which is mains powered digital settings which temp range from -10 + 20 about £10.00
