Title: hen attacking?
Post by: Craigx on June 11, 2012, 01:53
hey,

my hen (silverdorkie, in lay) she suddenly started to attack my legs/hands

for example, if i pick the food tray or pick eggs up shell go for my hands, or shell attack my feet if i dont let them out of the pen, or if im sat out side on he steps shell also go for my feet,

shes also pecked at my 2 yr old, on his legs n tummy,

any ideas to halt this? i can cope with the peckin my feet to hurry up but not when it regards my youngest

if within 2 weeks shes not lost this aggressin shellb taken to auction

which would b a shame as shes the first hatch i ever did, and out of that batch the only to survive. ( which was found tobe a dodo setup, ) she was raised upto 2 months in the house with alot of human contact, even have pics of her on my mrs lap, and on my pc desk and perched on my hand,

any suggestion, recommendatiom, comment welcome

How old is she? I assume she is a laying hen?
Could she be broody? My hen's nature changes when she's broody, she snarls and pecks me.
