I have been given some broad bean plants but I'm not ready to put them in there final place on my allotment yet due to recently taking it over and working hard digging the beds etc.

They are well established already and tall, could I pot them on into bigger pots for a couple of weeks until I'm ready?

If they have been grown under cover (and I expect they have) they may not be hardened off and so you will need to keep them outside during mild dys and bring them in at night for a week or so.

repotting them into larger pots is a good idea ... broad beans cope well with this.

They are sitting outside in a deep seed tray. Shall I pot them on for now and continue to keep them outside?

If the roots are coming out of the bottom, it would be best to pot them on to keep them growing until you can plant them out when space is clear at your plot

If they have spent the majority of their life outside then you can continue to keep them outside. If however they have been inside, greenhouse, coldframe or wherever then they need to be acclimatised to being outside. You do this by putting them outside during the day, (sheltered if its particularly wet or windy) and put them back under cover overnight for a week or so.
