latest eggs
« on: January 21, 2011, 15:18 »
I just wanted to share these two eggs which were laid today.

The big brown one was laid by Bobby, my copper black maran who has been laying for a couple of months now. I think she egg-celled herself here, a whopping 110g!

The other, looking more like a duck egg, was laid by PomPom, my skyline, who came into lay for the first time today (oh, I feel so proud, like a surrogate granny) and she managed a mighty 88g!! Wow, not bad for starters, eh?

Awww they are lovely eggs!  Our smallest Goldline only lays for a week at a time with a month in between, but she always lays huge eggs, makes your eyes water just thinking about it, doesn't it???    ??? ???

wished mine laid those 50p coins as well - especially as I have just found a secret hoard of 17 araucana eggs, 1 silkie egg and 1 ex batt egg (it was from seeing her coming out from the hidey hole that made me look in and found the stash  ::)). Did the water test and also cracked a couple open (those from the bottom of the pile) and all appear ok so we will be having lots of fried, poached and scrambled eggs this week
Staffies are softer than you think.

Maybe I should diversify into geese, if lucky I might end up with the one that lays the golden egg (that would come in handy, as I heard 2 days ago we're being made redundant  :( )

Good job I didn't post the other photo - the one with the retractable tape measure.....
