Title: Sour Crop - Any Advice Please?
Post by: Skywise on June 13, 2012, 18:55
So I came home from work tonight to find Blodwen all hunched over in the run looking very sorry for herself.  I could see that her crop was distended so I picked her up to checkit.  Her crop was very squashy and, when I pressed it gently, clear fluid gushed out of her mouth so I held her head down and did it again a couple of times until the fluid stopped coming  out.  I've mixed her some pellets with some live yoghurt and added ACV to her water, but is there anything else I should be doing for her?

I can't separate her from the other two but thought that live yoghurt and ACV won't hurt them and if Blod has eaten something that's causing this, then the chances are that the other two have as well so hopefully I'm treating all of them.

I was due to worm them next week but I'm guessing that it wouldn't be a good idea to put any chemicals into her while she's poorly so the worming will have to wait a couple of weeks.

Am I doing the right things?  Any advice gratefully accepted.

Sky

have you looked at this (http://chat.allotment-garden.org/index.php?topic=4345.0) page? You will find sour crop about half way down.
