This is one of the lucky galgo´s (hunting dogs)
« on: December 17, 2012, 17:20 »

She was found in the olive grove  starving and could hardly walk, she had to be carried to the car.  Hopefully she will tonight go to the Galgo 112  rescue people.  The hare/rabbit season has finished here, so any galgo´s not wanted are either abandoned or shot/hung. This young galgo  is a lucky lady, she is only young. It is enough to make you weep.

when you click on the photobucket IMG link you just have to paste it - did you put it inside the forum IMG tags?
I had to remove half of the link that was showing in your posts  ;)

Oh Pamela - she is just a bag of bones - it is so hard to see how people can be so cruel. Keep up the good work at the refuge.

Crikey, Pamela - I am shocked that people can do this.  So glad you found her

poor wee thing - but like you say she is one of the lucky ones. Why is this sort of behaviour accepted in Spain?
Staffies are softer than you think.

Simply because not all countries have our level of respect (they would say obsession) for animal life/rights.

I was told that now the hunting season is over there would be loads of Galgo´s abandoned, if not killed.  We found one dead down an old well once >:(

Not all the Spanish are bad with animals, unfortunately there are a load who are bad.  Lots also no not believe in sterilising bitches (waste of money ) and will not castrate the males (don´t like the idea, it is bad for the dogs they say  )

There are strict rules about microchipping/rabies injections, but that is only good if the dogs go to the vet.
