Pests
« on: April 14, 2012, 13:33 »
Hi all not sure if this works .i was told by a gardener of some many years that he uses olibus oil a few drops in the watering can two or three times a week helps to keep the pests at bay.
Has anyone else tried this and does it work?
Cheers john

Members sometimes discuss making their own pesticides or uses for commercial products beyond those they are licensed for. Whilst not wishing to stifle free speech, this site does not suggest or condone the illegal use of pesticides and would suggest members consider this article:

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Olibus oil is not used as a pesticide it is to fool the villains with its smell.

It is being used as a plant protection product and applied to an edible crop.

That brings it within the definition of a pesticide for the purposes of defra and this site.

It's Olbas oil, not Olibus, but the comments remain the same!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Personally I wouldn't wan't my plot smelling of either

It may or may not work, but there are effective 100% organic controls for almost every pest so I'll go with them  :)
