Firstly welcome to the forums, perhaps you'd pop along to the Welcome forum & introduce yourself.

If you can't plant blackcurrants in the late autumn/early winter, February & March are the recomended times, so you should be OK.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

They are coming into leaf right now so I would say it's too late but if you really want to go ahead take as large a root ball as possible and keep well watered to help it re-establish.
Alternatively/additionally cut back half stems to ground level to reduce demand from roots
Playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order!

I've always been told to only move them whilst dormant, but my blackcurrants have all burst into life weeks ago.

Moving now + reducing size of bush will affect how how many cuttings you can take - which I do in the autumn.

Does anyone have success in taking blackcurrant cuttings at this time of year whilst they have burst into life weeks ago?

Another thing, did you take on the plot before the buds burst enabling you to check for 'big bud'?

And another thing - as most blackcurrants form on the previous years growth you will reduce your crop by movin g/cutting down.
