Has to be Dwarf Green Curled.   Black Tuscany gets good reports but I've never tried it

I found curly kales too prone to nasties like mealy aphids and whitefly which settle in nicely and lurk amongst all the curly bits.
So instead I grow the varieties Nero di Toscana and Red Winter.
Red Winter has lovely oak-leaf shaped leaves on pinky stems and I've found it to be hardy through the coldest frostiest winters - I'm still picking leaves and getting fresh greens now.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

... AND the sky rats don't like it  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

... also my office is only at the bottom of the road from Seeds of Italy ... and I like it there      :D

My dwarf green curly kale got loads of whitefly... but it didn't affect the plants. Eventually towards the end of winter the whitefly gave up and mostly left. Never had a problem with mealy aphids. Kale is suppose to be quite hardy against pests and such compared to the other brassicas.
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

I got some black tuscan kale seeds in a lucky dip seed offer . Nero di Toscana sound more exciting though.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Is Black Tuscan Kale and Nero di Toscana not the same just  plant....just a translation?
Must get some seeds to try.
Bought some Red Russian Kale at an organic stall back end of last year and it was delicious. So have bought some seed to try. Anyone else tried this?
Still searching for Aura potato seed.
