Last night I went out with my torch and did a slug and snail collection around the chicken feed area and filled a 2 pint container........
I can't bear to hurt any animal so decided to take them to the meadow to release them - the hedgehogs can do that for me...
I hear they do make thier way home so wondering how far I need to take them to be sure they don't get back...?

For snails it's apparently more than 20m ... ::)

Interesting - a particularly horrible neighbour lives that far away..... heh heh >:(

You should have put a spot of paint on top of their shells so you can see if either they make their way back to you or your neighbour has wanged them your way! :lol:

Sounds like the voice of experience!

Nope - have no neighbours, but just an interesting experiment to try. You could use different colours and wang them different distances too, then write a paper on it!

I used to go at at dead of night and collect slugs and snails into a bucket and take them for a walk up to the local church yard >:(
Not these days think I've become more hardened as its now a bucket of soapy water...our veg and flowers are too precious for these little beesties to eat our plants.
