Title: Crop rotation - squashes & salads
Post by: Classybird on September 16, 2020, 14:49
Hi, just a quick one - where would squashes/courgettes and salad leaves fit in with your crop rotation groups?
Thanks in advance.

I class those as 'anywhere' crops as they dont really need rotating, so I put them wherever theres a bit of space.

I have my main beds for my rotation crops and then a few other beds that are used for the 'go anywhere' crops. I try not plant the same thing in the same bed two years running where possible for nutrient reasons, but I don't lose sleep if I have to!

I use a 4 bed roatation, the squash (crown prince) have their own bed due to planting 3 plants they will grow over the full bed.
Lettuce and other salad stuff is planted here and there as other crops are pulled.
