Three years now on the trot my plum tree leaves are being Chewed Any idea what's causing this

Looking in my trusty Hessayon book of fruit it either the mottled umber moth or the winter moth. Both are "looper" moths but the winter moth can spin new leaves together so, if it's that, look for any sign of webbing.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
