Shin is Great meat cooked long and slow ! Topside is the stuff you chuck out  as it's tasteless rubbish

I agree shin is a real slow cook cut.  My local butcher sells it sliced, but if you asked I'm sure you could order a whole piece. 

That would be lovely over rice, shredded into wraps like the recipe or just cold on doorstep bread

as I have freezer space I only buy from local Farmers and always buy a half at a time whether it is pork beef  or lamb

I have, yes thanks. It's cheap enough normally, when available, but I got some on offer a while ago and it is tucked up in the freezer waiting for slow cooker season.

That recipe sounds good Lardman, but what a terrible eye-twisting font.
