Is one of the 40 Kelsae onion seeds which I put in an unheated propagator on Boxing day.

Here's to many more.

I've only been growing onions from seed for 3 years so my experience is limited, but the seedlings do seem a bit fragile when young and the first year I lost 3/4 of them to what looked like damping off, although there were no visible signs of fungus.

Losses were far fewer when I kept them a bit drier, although I think they are also susceptible to frost at that young stage - not a problem at the moment but you never know what's in store...............
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

You do.

My Boxing Day sown ones came up 3 days ago. They spent 2 days inside with ali foil (nice girl), while a few more popped up and have now gone into the frost free greenhouse where they will get more light.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Which reminds me that I forgot to get my onion seeds started. Another to-do job today.
