A guy at the lottie uses string to help melon/tomatoes and also strips off the lower leaves to get lots of fruit.

People often remove tomato leaves later in the season to help ripening I think

I put wires along the spine and just to the side of the spine of the tunnel. I wrapped it around each of the cross members so the longest unsupported span of wire is about eight feet. I really tightened each wire and then dropped lengths of twine down at intervals from the wire to support tomatoes and cucumbers etc. Worked fine for me for the tomatoes but got messy for the cucumbers.

Question. I've grown tomatoes in grow-bags, pots full of grow-bag material but never straight from the soil. As I intend to grow them in the tunnel soil next year, do they need anything more than well-rotted horse-muck in the soil?

No they don't straight away, but remember to feed them with tomato food once you have the first flowers, as they need the balance of nutrients to carry on flowering and set/grow fruit at the same time
