How big a pot should pepper plants be in. I have them in 5 inch pots at the mo but im wondering if they will benefit from a bigger pot like a free asda flower tub.

thanks
R.I.P Bobby Smiler Smith......love you always little fella.

Would say minimum of 9 inch, preferably 12 and a good feeding.

Sweet Pepper?

I grew in 9" last year, and they were a tad small, so I agree with the above.

Chilli Pepper?

I have grown some (Demon Red) that were dwarf plants and didn't need much more than a 5" pot ... other varieties can be huge!

I'm growing sweet peppers in growbags, three plants to a bag - not done this before, but they all seem to be growing nicely and looking healthy.

Chilli peppers - I have a Thai Dragon, which I managed to overwinter, in an 8" pot and it's thriving, loads of flowers and tiny fruits  :) I've also got Apache and Jalapeno which are in 6" pots and doing OK though they are not as far on as the Thai dragon.  I read somehere that chillis do better if they're slightly constrained, so not to put them in really big pots, but I can't remember where I read that, so don't bank on it being correct!

Hope that helps
Sal
