Thrilled to see the first green shoots of next year's snowdrops in the wood just now

Snowdrop leaves showing now?? Crikey! I like the pause that winter gives as in my mind it lets the garden takes a deep breath (and me) before the advent of the new season. There are some plants that flower during the winter which is nice to see but I need a break from gardening before I contemplate next year's plan.

I think that sums up how i tend to feel as winter approaches Goosegirl so winter for us although cold and damp it gives one that much needed break away from the allotment and reflect on what you've achieved  this season
and what you intend to grow next season  as your looking through that seed catalogue with your feet up by the fire together with a nice cup of tea or something a bit stronger 

I don't think we are wishing our lives away by planning and looking forward to next season because after those  long  damp and cold days we all look forward to our allotments and gardens waking up as spring rears its head and things start to grow again including the weeds one mite say its the joy of spring and after this years lock down next spring will be like a breath of fresh air
