Pre-recorded shows broadcast during lockdown
« on: April 27, 2020, 22:26 »
Is anyone enjoying the various shows that are being broadcast?

I missed Andrew Lloyd Webber's Jesus Christ Superstar and Phantom, but have caught Joseph and also Love Never Dies (the phantom sequel).

I have also just watched the National Theatre's production of Twelfth Night, which had Tamsin Greig in it and was hilariously superb - available until 7pm this Thursday; I also watched One Man Two Guvnors with James Corden, but didn't manage to catch Jane Eyre.

Such a privilege as I never would get to London to see these shows otherwise.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I am not a telly person, will always try and find other things to do however...
We have set up a Walking Football group chat on whatts app so we can all stay in contact, the banter has been top notch, we have a chap who does goerdie folk songs (video), he follows me.. The Punk Poet and it was he who kept telling me to watch Sunderland Till I Die on Netflix, Watch both series almost back to back 14 episodes and really enjoyed it.
Of course I am back here now.
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

Most of them are on YouTube.

The ALW channel is called The Shows Must Go On.  The show is released for 48 hours at 7pm on a Friday.

The National Theatre channel is called National Theatre Home.  The show is released for 7 days at 7pm on a Thursday.

I tend to see updates as to what is coming up on Facebook or Twitter from What's On Stage.

Also, I believe many museums are doing virtual tours - must investigate that.  Chichester Theatre is broadcasting some of its plays.  Opera companies are also doing broadcasts.
