Wood Ash
« on: February 22, 2010, 22:22 »
Hi all

I can recollect my grandad saying wood ash is good for the garden but can't remember how he used it - do you apply it direct to the soil? prior to which veg? or fruit bushes? or do you add it to the compost heap?Is it the same as potash or am i being daft?? Can anyone advise? ??? ???

Wood ash is rich in potassium salts, but will make your soil alkaline.
