walking home with my son who spotted this tumbling down a path and we took it home as it looks well funky, wondering what plant it would have come from, any ideas?

It's an Allium seedhead

There was a load of seed in the heads of the flower, could i store these in envelopes for next year?

Yes you can grow from seed - but they take about 2 years of growing on to get to flowering size.

Do you know where it came from/do you have any idea which Allium it is? Eating onions will grow the same type of seed head, it's not necessarily an ornamental
