I don't have a fancy machine.  Our solar dryer was fabricated from an old bedside cabinet, some anti-fly mesh and a replacement leg.  In the summer we dry stuff in it, and the winter we air-dry/mature cheese in it.

I still (besides now having a fancy machine) have the old tea chest that I was going to convert using a light bulb (and possibly very small fan), but am on learning curve and don't have hot/dry summers, but have thought of constructing secondary device (possibly located in my roof space).
