hi,can anyone say whether slug pellets harm the crops ,as in contamination etc,thanks.

Sorry no idea but without them on ours we would have no crops.  I'd rather not use them but even with me, hubby and two older kids chasing the creatures we still have serious issues with damage.

On another note do we get huge amounts because we are by a hedge. Would this make any difference ?

yes i have used quite a lot especialy with all the rain the pellets have killed loads.

They are used by farmers, not just by allotment growers - so I can't think that there's a problem to the plants, or us by eating them (the plants - not the pellets  )

I use the organic ones which aren't harmful to other animals. From what I have read they work by bloating the slugs out so they can't eat your plants. I have lost a few plants where I wasn't quick enough with the pellets but otherwise seem to be doing well. It is my first year though. I choose not to use regular pellets as we are on the banks of 2 large streams and we get a lot of wildlife as a result

If they were dangerous to use on edible plant's, it would say so on the pack.
