this is the third plant general question. Has anybody got one and have they got any fresh leaves this year. I normally cut the leaves during winter (dont know whether i was doing right) and normally by may I get new leaves, but this year there seems to be an eerie silence and no sign of any new leaves. has is gone dead in the big freeze?

Did you protect the crown in the really cold weather?

I forgot to protect mine too Prakash 

Most of the old fronds have died but a couple have not.  I'm going to give it some dilute liquid feed onto its crown and trunk.  Fiingers crossed.
