The last week & a half have been a nightmare, what with the red mite, breaking a finger & now, my oldest hen, Rosie, has had a soft shelled egg break inside her.
I have bathed in warm water & washed her rear end, & pulled out the shell, which was hanging out.  She laid yesterday & the egg was normal, but covered in the white, so I knew something was up.  Will this harm her in any way? Hopefully I have made her more comfortable now, as she had been in the nest box all morning, obviously trying to get rid.
Any advice greatly received.

Dont worry mumsy, sounds like most of it is out, give her a little extra calcium, limestone or a crushed calcium tab in water, just to help her over the next week or so. def no treats for a while, but, as you have had a little redmite problem a little catfood wont do any harm plus a teaspoon of codliver oil.
