I am just about to get some chickens but have been told different thing about the size of the run. They are going to be getting about 50 square foot so how many should I be getting I'm hoping we can have 3.

Hi terrijane. Welcome 

50 sq ft equates to about 5 sq metres I think. If it's a permanent run, I wouldn't like to recommend more than 2 but if they can be out and about every day, you should be ok with 3.
Will you be able to provide a bit of variety in their run ?
ie. hanging things, perches, etc

Thanks for you advice Rob  I have now got run mark 5 and have given up the veg garden so they have more than 70 sq ft per bird! and I am the proud owner of 3 hybrids Bluebelle, Columbian black feather and black pearl.

That's some run for them. I would never give up the veg plot but well done for spoiling them. Maybe they'll let you share some of it next year once it's been de-pested and manured.
