Lack of eggs.
« on: November 07, 2008, 12:00 »
My girls - 7 were up until two three weeks ago laying 7 eggs a day, this has dropped off to 1 or 2 a day.

Is this normal?

Are there any ways to increase egg production?

Hi Boxfanman :)

Are any of them moulting? That may reduce egg numbers.
Also the fact that the day's are shorter (less daylight) will play apart :)

You could give them some artificial light in the coop but personally I see winter as a time for a break for them all :D

Sarah :)

No none moulting yet, but have seen more feathers than normal in the coop, no chance of artificial light as there is no power where they are kept.

My pullets are starting to slow down to. The only way to keep them going is by the use of artificial lighting.
