Winter prep for the run
« on: September 29, 2019, 09:23 »
I did a major clean up and move round in my big run yesterday.  I dug out 6 rubble sacks full of old bark chip, which has already been transported to the plot and used to mulch soft fruit.  A load of fresh new chip went in to get a good deep layer to keep them out of the mud.  The run is roofed which helps a lot,  I've left one corner shallow for dust bathing.

All their logs and branches for perching are re-arranged.  Some are still at the front for garden gazing, which they love to do.  Some are at the back, next to the wall that is our rear boundary, so they have a more sheltered spot to hunker down in.

All has been inspected, discussed and approved by them.  As I look out of the window now, they are split between the two perching areas preening away and looking quite content  :)
