That's the reason that ALL commercial egg layers, even the organic free range ones are culled at about 27 months (I think). The moult and lay no eggs for about 3 months or more.  Egg quality after that drops too.  

It's a tricky situation if you have become fond of your commercial egg producers - you're dammed if you do and dammed if you don't (cull that is).

The puppy is a rather large, spoilt Corgi by now.
If I won the lottery I would buy a small holding and have loads of chickens, ducks, geese and alpacas and a corgi of my own.
The trouble is, I dont do the lottery.

i dont do the lottery myself but i do with work colleages   the highest we won was over a grand and i think we got £220 each the little b**** kept us waiting tell after Christmas before they told us an handed over the money cant complain though got my cat though the m,o,t  

i want a bigggggggggggggggggggg farm filled with rescued animals but the spiders would all have to die   cant dont wont do them no matter what size and dont even get me started on the celeb get me outta here the opening night where the being sick emoticon gone   .

my girls have slowed down and  i have around 11 out of 21 that aint laying but i dont mind .
