Thanks to you all for your great ideas, Im off work tomorrow so going to try a couple of them out, especially as we have quite a few apples.  Im also going to make mini pizza's for tea using balm cakes, toast them lightly first them top with home made tomato pasatta cheese, onio and pepperoni, the little uns will eat those.

Thanks again to you all, I love this site.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm summer pudding  :tongue2:

I know I suggested Summer/Autumn pudding but I usually make mine with fatless sponge as I am not a great lover of soggy bread.

I was told that just slightly stale bread can be revamped by a few seconds in the microwave but I have not tried it  :)

Also, when I was young, I read that if your unsolved loaf or rolls are a bit dry, sprinkle with a little water, then pop into a warm oven for a few minutes.

You can also make savoury versions of bread and butter pudding. I have several recipes, one with caramelised onions and some more vegetably and they are pretty tasty.  :)
