I have tried to grow cauliflowers 3 times now and am not having any success.
They grow with tiny curds about the size of a golf ball and many of them are brown.
What am I doing wrong?

mine are the same this year  also 3 attemts    no idea why   except too warm an sunny

This was my first year attempting them and they worked (but only half the size of supermarket ones as I think they were too close ). They were quite shaded and covered in debris netting though....

Mine were netted so next doors pigeons did not have a feast, soil was limed last september, fed with blood fish and bone when planted. Watered well 2-3 times a week during the dry spell we had.

Last year I thought I'd cracked it because I got brilliant cauliflowers. This year - either no curds at all, or very small ones. I've grown them in exactly the same way, so maybe it's the weather.

One of my neighbours has nice looking caulis but I never see him to ask how he grows them. Same site, same weather conditions as my pathetic crop
