Flower ID please?
« on: March 12, 2014, 11:17 »
This was thriving in the garden of an unoccupied neighbouring house, last July.

I was impressed both by its look and its robustness.

Builders are now renovating this house, so no chance to "borrow" some.

Can anyone ID it please?
Thanks,

mr.

Looks like a Day Lily to me (individual flowers only last a day but there should be plenty of them.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Hemerocallis (not sure about the spelling) or it's other name Day Lilly for me too.

Certainly a Day lilly, (Hemerocallis), as to the variety, that's hard, as there are hundreds of different types, colours and heights. Single flowers, double flowers, 2 tone flowers, single colours.

As JayG say's, each flower lasts a day, then dies, another will then open, flowering over a few weeks.

Planted lots in my garden from Stella D'Oro to Strawberry Fields Forever.
