I bought a metal arch a few years ago for a few £ which lasted me years. I bought a similar one from B and M last year that has now rusted off it's base and useless.

I just need to know which make to go for that will last me loner (ie, more than 2-5 years). I would get an old cast iron one if I could afford it.

If you can transport it, take it to your local fabricators.   I'm sure they will be happy to weld new legs on.       Cheers,     Tony.

or if it cant be repaired and you cant find or afford a proper wrought iron one then look out for one that is galvanised

You could go to a metal fabricator and buy the lengths you need, drill holes and bolt together. Our bit of angle iron was only a couple of quid.
