How long will it take?
« on: March 01, 2011, 21:46 »
New tunnel 14ft x30ft
Hoping to get the poly on this Sunday.
All prep will be done, 4 people.

How long should it take us? Just have to pull on the poly and pleat the doors and backfill the trench.

Anyone tackled a similar job?

All day? Couple of hours. I know its a bit of a how long is a piece of string sort of question.

Would like to give helpers an idea of how long they'd be needed.
And of course need to try and time food/drink!

Our polytunnel is smaller so this job you describe was done by two people and it didn't take anything like all day, more a couple of hours tops. Your poly, being a bigger sheet, may take more manipulation to get it straight and taught but I still don't think it should take all day.  Providing it isn't too windy on the day!

Reminds me of a time-lapse movie of someone getting his mates round to fit the engine in his kit car.  10am - 11am people arrive in dribs and drabs, mill around, discuss things, move engine-cranes about ... then the garage is deserted from 12 - 2pm ... and then at 2pm they all return and within 5 minutes the engine is in!

The answer to the question will be........

as long as it does, or, until it's finished  ;) and depends on how many cups of tea, or beers, are drunk during the process
